Train buffs rejoice: The crocodile to Sweden – New Technology

The crocodile, the locomotive passed in the Swiss Alps, is known to many as the jewel in the Märklin model trains. Now visiting it for the first time, Sweden.

Soon it is Christmas Eve for all railway enthusiasts. In September, the crocodile, the model for the jewel among Märklin trains, for the first time to Sweden. It notifies the Swedish Railway Museum in a press release from the Swedish Transport Administration.

The locomotive transported idly from Olten, Switzerland to Ängelholm in Sweden. This means that it is pulled by other locomotives, during the trip that goes through Germany and Poland. If everything goes according to plan is the locomotive in place in Angelholm on 5 September. Where it should be presented and prepared to run selected parts of the Swedish railway network. It is thanks to Switzerland and Sweden have the same electrical system for the railway.

There are opportunities to buy tickets all the way, or selected parts. The route is laid on the Swedish Railway Museum website.

During the journey from Ängelholm to Gavle ToR’s Crocodile locomotive operates. Due to the current ATC rules may locomotive go first 200 km per day. When the locomotive does not go first, it goes behind the ATC locomotives, or in some cases later.
