Robber chased by police – by helicopter – Aftonbladet

A phone store was robbed in central Södertälje on Sunday.

Two masked men dressed in construction clothes and armed with knives threatened the staff, according to police.

the alarm about the robbery to a phone shop on Main street in Sodertalje came at 11:58.

Several police patrols looked for the robbers, who shall have fled in a dark Volvo towards Nygatan. Among others attended a helicopter and police dogs in pursuit.

– We sent the helicopter because witnesses clearly seen the robbers leave in a dark Volvo, then it is good to see if anyone has a deviant behavior traffic or if they changed the car somewhere, says Eva Nilsson, information officer at the Stockholm police.

– We also work with internal surveillance to look for a similar approach, for example.

No suspected perpetrators have arrested. But a probable getaway car was found at 14 o’clock.

– A witness had seen a car that resembled the description, stand with one door open at the back of a street in the neighborhood, in the center of Södertälje. We believe that it is the first getaway. We’ll see if anyone has seen any car or whether the perpetrators have been picked up, says Eva Nilsson.

The car has been seized for a forensic examination.

No person physically injured during the robbery.

the police have launched a preliminary investigation of robbery. The crime scene was cordoned off. The technicians began their work to secure the track at 13:20 o’clock. Witnesses and plaintiffs have been interrogated.

– We have a number of people who have been in the store. There are more than a staff and several witnesses, says Eva Nilsson.

How are the staff?

– No one has been physically damaged, but it is shocking of course, being attacked.

“Looked like garbage men”

a witness, who was nearby when the robbery occurred, tells how police helicopter buzzed over central Södertälje more than an hour after the perpetrators escape.

– A good friend of mine told me that the robbers had ski masks, those you have when you play paintball, and looked like garbage men, said the person.

According to the witness went wild as the robbers left the scene.

– They jumped into a dark blue Volvo station wagon and backed into a tree twice.
