Google buys robot manufacturers - Computer Sweden

Google confirmed in weekend that it has bought up Boston Dynamics, a company that specializes in building robots which mimic human and animal movement patterns.

- We look forward to the next chapter in the robots, and what we can achieve together with Google engineers, says Boston Dynamics founder Marc Raibert.

Boston Dynamics is the eighth robot company Google acquired in the last six months. The financial details of the latest takeover is unknown and Google has chosen not to comment on the deal.

On his Youtube page shows Boston Dynamics up several robots that mimic humans and animals alike. Founded in 1992 by two former students at MIT, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Its customers include the U.S. military, the U.S. government and several private companies.
