SJ and SAS establishes the passbook in Sweden - 99mac

use of passbook in Sweden for digital tickets have taken a big step forward in that SJ is now launching it for all its travelers. SAS is already using the Pass Book and 99mac have tried to travel with it.

In September 2012 released # iOS 6 and hence # Passbook, Apple’s focus on digital tickets . Since then there has been relatively slow for passbook to get your foot in the market. Companies in the U.S. was the first to support such cafe chain Starbucks where it went to buy coffee and more from a digital card in the passbook. Since then, airlines, cinemas and other, slowly but surely embraced the technology.

Here in Sweden, it has however been rare to see passbook in practice. The first major release was when SAS last summer launched Passbook integration into its iOS app that digital boarding pass. It has also been possible to use a third-party service where SMS tickets for trains in some parts of Sweden agreed to send, but it has been far from a comprehensive solution.

SJ Launches PBS for Iphone.

Today takes passbook a major step forward in Sweden as the SJ announces its partnership with Apple that allows all travelers with Iphone can collect their train tickets in passbook. Every day, 100,000 passengers with SJ and presumably has a large number of these already iPhone as a phone.

passbook in practice

When approaching retirement pops current ticket up as notecards and can be displayed without the screen needs to be locked up. You can turn off the display on the locked screen.

Both SAS and SJ’s use of the PBS works the same way. Through each company’s own apps for iOS can ticket information retrieved and then added to the PBS. When a ticket or boarding pass is in the passbook is it ready for use and when retirement nears it pops up on the home screen as a note. By withdrawing the notice to the side opens the ticket without the screen needs to be locked up (this can be turned off for each ticket if desired) and can be shown to the conductor or boarding controller that reads the bar code.

SJ’s integration with Passbook works well, a button for the ticket in the passbook. In addition to setting on the locked screen is also set on automatic update.

99mac have try using passbook at fly with SAS and the conclusion is that it is a well-functioning solution that makes life as a traveler a little easier. Right integration with iOS that allows the right ticket shows up on the screen without any action from the user and then can be displayed without screen is unlocked prevents the user feel engineering stress of not having been looking forward and made her phone ready for reading.

passbook via Airdrop

To send the tickets to another iPhone with Airdrop is really smooth.

Another bonus with the passbook is integrated with iOS is that you can send tickets between phones with Airdrop in iOS 7. If a person, for example, booked a trip for himself and a few others, it is enough that he fill in the booking data in SJ’s app, add tickets in PBS and then send the tickets to the others who do not even have to have SJ’s Ideas installed.
