Span in technique and expression – Kristianstadsbladet

Åhus.

The start of Konstrundan went yesterday. Just in Aahus vicinity where the span large. On the road south showed art Round’s grand old lady, Martha Sjöholm, perhaps his last show.

Despite the small room inside the tourist office at the Square in Aahus held there much. The range was great in terms of material and expression. It began, perhaps, this year’s art tour for many, at least for Carina and Stefan Sandin.

– This is the first place, unless you count the ice cream stand at the town square, said Carina.

the outskirts of the southern Ahus has Märtha Sjöholm his studio with nearly as much variation among techniques and motifs within a single artist. She also had 70 productive years and have always had a desire to experiment. She thinks it may be the last Konstrundan as exhibitors.

– Because I’m so old, but I have said so for years they say. I’m 96 and a half years, and I mean that I do not have much to wag. It has been quite a pain with all frames and all the stuff to develop, but it is fun.

But she must not stop painting. One of the paintings on the wall is a part of her latest project – acrylic paintings on aluminum background.

– I find that I have retrieved some interesting things in them that I want to work with. You can see how it changes in different lighting. I’ll see where I end up.

They are constantly in the mind of Martha Sjöholm as she shows around among the paintings. She remembers how she painted each painting and can tell you in detail about how she burned into glass scrap in enamel. She remembers where she painted – even if it was at the stern of a ferry in the Port of London or from a balcony in Venice – and has a story about the subject of almost every one.

When the day is over the 80 or so people visited with her but the energy is relentlessly high.

– I have not had much sold, but many nice reviews. I’m happy and it’s only the first day.

Toyota launches new engines with smart technology – Auto Motor & Sport

Toyota launches several new engines that will be more economical than ever – thanks to a clever ploy that has previously only been available in hybrid models.

Over the next two years Toyota launches several new engines that will at least ten percent more economical than the engines they replace. Exactly which models the motors fall into is not clear, but 1,0 – and 1,3-liter engine is best suited for smaller models like the Yaris and Verso.

Toyota is shaken right now of a massive recall of 6.4 million vehicles that were sent out on Wednesday. In total, 27 models and here in Sweden hit 10,800 cars.

But Toyota also has good news to offer. Introducing a new generation of petrol engines that will at least ten percent more economical than the outgoing engines.

Like any other automakers must Toyota in cutting fuel consumption and emissions. Therefore launched a 1.3-liter engine that has a faster combustion process and higher compression than before (13.5:1).

The engine also uses Atkinsoncykeln, hitherto only existed in petrol engines as Toyota and Lexus used in hybrid models. Atkinsonmotorn has a different camshaft and can provide lower fuel consumption when the engine is running at partial load – ie when the driver does not give full throttle.

A disadvantage Atkinsoncykeln is that the engine usually do not have as much effect as a conventional gasoline engine. There is no problem in hybrid cars where the electric motor provides an extra ‘boost’ when needed. But when the new Atkinsonmotorn now installed in cars that do not have hybrid drive must Toyota get around the problem by using higher compression.

Atkinsonmotorn also has an intake port with a new form of vortex chamber, refrigerated recirculation of exhaust gases and an advanced valve timing system (VVT-iE, Variable Valve Timing-Intelligent Electric).

The new engine is also as the basis for a variety of larger engines. They receive the same basic technology but add Toyota also to direct injection and supercharging with turbo. A total of 14 new engine variants to be launched in the next two years, and to be offered in 30 percent of all sold Toyota Models.

With the new engines, Toyota is at the forefront of engine development. Good work:

U.S. drone uses Swedish technique – Västervikstidningen

Swedish satellite stations makes it possible for the U.S. to send control signals to remote attack drones, according to TV4. A survey shows that government Swedish Space Corporation (SCC), former SSC, has collaboration with some of the world’s largest arms companies, such as Boeing, Look Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Air Force.

We have the technical equipment to capture the signals and collect them together and send to customers. We check thus not what’s in the cables, says Anders Jörle, Communications Director at SCC, to TV4.

Using SCC latest U.S. spy satellite WGS4 been placed over the Middle East, according to the program.

-If cooperation on such a project could be wrong, it must come from the political level, in this case, they give us our mission, says Anders Jörle.
