Internet more important than television - Östgöta Correspondent

Americans would rather skip their TV than their internet, according to a new survey. 46 percent of adults felt that it would be “very difficult” to cope without the internet, but only 35 percent felt the same about TV n (TT)

If you had to, what would you prefer to opt out – tv or internet? The Americans have all become so fond of the internet that they generally prefer to skip the TV than surfing, according to a new survey by the think tank Pew Research Center.

survey showed that 53 percent of Internet users considered that it would be “very difficult” to do without the net. Even if you include those who do not use the internet, 46 per cent of all adult Americans that it would be difficult to do without the net.

corresponding figure for TV was 35 percent. And support for television is decreasing. In 2006, 44 per cent think it would be very difficult to do without television.

Women were generally more likely than men to like the internet, as well as people with higher income and education, according to the survey.
