Computers youth clubs in Helsingborg is now in short supply. “There are needs that control,” said the Head of Unit Monika Linderos who believe that children are no longer asking for computers in leisure activities.
Helsingborg were previously computer room at many recreation centers. But since a few years, computers have been removed from most centers and meeting places. The reason is that no longer use them, according to Monika Linderos who is head of the municipal recreation centers in Helsingborg.
– It is the children’s needs determine. It is therefore not a decision that has come from above that they should be removed, says Monica Linderos.

How do you know that children and young people do not need computers at the recreation center
– We notice. It’s the same if you imagine that a workplace has a gym where everyone goes at the beginning. When no one uses it anymore, there is no point to keep it.
If anyone would need a computer for school work or other, what are the options then?
– There are personal computers that kids can borrow if they ask, says Monika Linderos.
The money you save on the computers will go to activities in the business, who trips and the like. Monika Linderos also think that there is a positive health aspect.
– We have problems with children moving too little. Then it’s good if we can provide alternatives to what they do at home.
Can one assume that all children have access to computers in their homes?
– even in areas that are rich kids, we noticed that the computers just stood. But we have a few computers left in some places, says Monika Linderos.
