Xbox amends its decision after anger from players - Expressen

Xbox does a 180 after having met with fury from committed players.

It will now be allowed to lend games to their friends when the new console Xbox One is released in November.

– It’s a decision based on the feedback we received after E3. It is as simple as we have listened to our fans, says Mattias Rosenkvist, head of Xbox in Sweden.

Microsoft’s presentation of its new game console Xbox One can not be described as anything other than a public relations fiasco.

internet sites dedicated to video games, the views were not gracious when it came to its harsh restrictions on gambling.

Some things that players were extra outraged These included that you had to connect to the internet once a day for one game would not work – even though you bought them to disc and played one-person mode.

Nor would it be possible to sell or lend the game without the buyer would have to pay to Microsoft to unlock the content.

But after seeing fans’ reactions – and the hype around Sony’s next console Playstation 4 overshadowed Xbox – the company has now changed it.

In a press release, they write that they have “listened to the fans ‘feedback’ and take back several of the most criticized features. Now you no longer need to connect the console to the Internet, other than during installation. And it will be free to change, lend and sell games just like people are used to.

– In retrospect, maybe not everyone was prepared to take that step to be always connected. We have listened to our users who have been clear that they want choice, says Mattias Rosenkvist, head of Xbox in Sweden.

Xbox One released in November and will cost 4495 SEK.
