In the Bill, the Government proposes that the analogue radio network will be developed to be replaced by digital terrestrial radio in any form. A tentative completion date is 2022.
Nine years is considered sufficient for citizens to have time to replace their old radios with new ones that meet the digital broadcasts. The cost to replace the roughly 20 million radios in the country varies from a few hundred dollars for a kitchen radio to large installation costs for car-mounted devices.
