As of Monday, July 1, you can no longer use Google Reader service for reading news by subscribing to RSS feeds. 99mac have guide for how to export your data from Google Reader before it is too late.

Reader has been by far the most popular option to follow RSS feeds, either directly through the Google web pages or as a synchronization service for RSS readers on different platforms.

When Google in mid-March this year announced that they would close down Reader hit like a bombshell on the web. However, this has not only been of evil, in the wake of this decision, a number of other services, both new and existing, have been able to flourish and receive Google’s previous users.

Services such as Feedly has received millions of new users. Feedly and most other RSS services have features to import subscriptions from Google Reader, only it is made before July 1 that is.

For those who use or have used Google Reader, it may be a good idea to export the list of subscriptions from Google before the closure. With such an exported file, you can later import into other services and readers in the future. It is easy to export, just follow the guide below.
