A bollards used to moor boats, torn on Sunday afternoon off and flew 80 meters at Stadsgårdskajen in Stockholm.

Since it landed on a car, just someone meters from the nearest human.

– It was incredibly lucky that it went well, says harbor master Henrik Cars.

Mali working as sausage vendors at Stadsgårdskajen. On Sunday afternoon, he helped a customer, while Birka Cruises ships added and moored.

– They held on and buckled and unbuckled to get the boat near the dock. Suddenly I saw something that flew in the air, he says, showing his arm how the 100-kg heavy stålbumlingen made a high air route from the dock to the parking lot, 80 meters away.

“Way too crowded”

Where it landed on a car, which had the rear window smashed before it hit the ground and also injured bakredet on a bus.

– There is an hour where the afternoon when there are a lot of people to and from the boat. It was way too crowded. Just then it happened. It was lucky that no one was injured, said Malis.

According to witnesses Aftonbladet spoken to hit the heavy steel slug down a few meters from a person.

When Agneta Stywberg and her friend came out from the art gallery Photographic adjacent to the quay, surrounded her car port staff.

– Now we wait for the salvor. It is of course boring and hard with the car but we’re very grateful that no one was hit, she says.

Will withstand 120-ton load

Henrik Cars, port captain at the ports of Stockholm, is taken aback by the event.

– I have been a seaman for 40 years, Port Captain in 10. I have never experienced anything like it. The bollards are designed for 30 tonnes but to cope four times, thus 120 tonnes. In a normal mooring is about 10 tons, he said.

All the 7-8 believed were moored mechanically and at the same time.

– I’ve talked to the staff and it was not anything special Today, says Henrik Cars.

He has no theories about how the bollard can be released. Now it will be investigated thoroughly.

– Our technicians will check what is wrong, for no fault is it. Something like this should not happen, it’s unbelievable. We must ensure that nothing similar happens again, it is really important, he says.

Mali’m not worried about that happening again.

– You become a little flabbergasted course . I joked with port staff and said that I may wear my helmet next time, says Mali.
