CAA releases interactive drönarkarta – New Technology

Unmanned vehicles are becoming more common in our Swedish airspace. A new sitemap from the CAA will make it easier for individuals to know where you get to fly – and where there is drönarförbud.

UPDATED. In the past year there have been reported some 15 incidents where drones found in the protected airspace, which among other things led to the Stockholm-Arlanda and Bromma airport has been stopping traffic

Den new map, which was published on lfv.se Wednesday, is designed to prevent hobby aviators disturb regular air traffic to continue with their drones or UAVs (Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle), which air craft also called.

– In Sweden needed a permit to land the uncontrolled traffic, which we expect drones, in control zones that are adjacent to airports. This kind of air operations is an increasing problem in the zones near the landing sites. Drones have no transponders, which means that we can not see them on our radar screens. The new map is part of our efforts to provide information on how to deal with their drones and where to fly it, says Per Fröberg, Press Officer of the Civil Aviation Administration.

How is the set of public knowledge when it comes to drones?

– It is difficult for me to appreciate. Important to point out is that we are not against the developments taking place regarding drones. But we want to increase knowledge about the drone was shot in the wrong way could endanger flight safety.

In addition to control zones and airports are also traffic zones across the country marked on the CAA zoomable map.
