Boy stabbed on the way to school – Aftonbladet

A 10-year-old boy has been stabbed on his way to school in Valbo Gavle.

It was at 8.30 pm on Tuesday morning, an unknown assailant attacked the boy and cut him in the face with a knife.

– it feels insecure now and unbelievable that it happened here, says neighbor Mary Frigård.

– it’s a 10-year-old boy on his way to school who had been stabbed in the face, it tells the boy when he comes to school. We are now in the area after the culprit, says Lisa True Ervik, spokesperson of the police Central region.

Aftonbladet has talked with several residents in the beautiful terraced area Vretas in Valbo where the knife attack took place.



” just a few steps away “

Maria Frigård and Per Sjudin stand at the police cordon with her daughter Emilia as they were bringing home from school. They are scared.

– It feels insecure now and unbelievable that something happened here, says Maria.

When they heard about the knife cut, they went to the school located a few steps away from home .

– We did download Emilia but our oldest child. Those who attend the middle school and above would continue classes during the day. It was certainly there. They may not go out at recess, says Per.

– It feels insecure now and we will keep the kids inside at night until further notice, said Maria who think it is strange that no one has seen what happened .

– There are many who live here with window out to the place where it should have happened, she said.

Chasing Man with Knife

the police are now looking for knife man in the area around the school.

– Have you seen things in the morning, we are very keen to get in touch, said police Lisa True Ervik.

– we know very little about the offender in present. What we got from the boy is that it is a man and a knife, otherwise we do not know. We are very interested in people who have made observations in the area.

The police have located the crime scene and cordoned off the technical examination.



Leaves testimony

Lisa True Ervik report that the boy had the care of the staff and the school nurse when he arrived at school.

the boy’s physical damage was not so bad that he needed to go to hospital. It was enough to be omplåstrad at the local health center.

– He has become omplåstrad at the health center. After conditions so he feels good, says the boy’s father.

The offense has been heading aggravated assault. The boy has got to go to the police station to give evidence on Tuesday afternoon.



Teaching continues

In the boy’s school progress teaching as usual. Rector Eva Lantz says that the school has been beefed up with more adults for student safety. But she is not particularly worried.

– The event is in no way connected with the school, there is no reason that the school is an unsafe place, she said.

The school has sent a mail to parents that they do not need to pick up their children. The staff told me what happened to all classes and school health is open to students who are worried and want to talk.

– We have followed a crisis plan that we have. We go through the points on it, says Rector Eva Lantz.
