Ronny, 40 new ICA card, switch out my bus pass – Aftonbladet

Ronny Eriksson, 40, has never had to remove the bus card from the wallet to go through the locks.

But the new card technology that ICA Bank is the first to use knock out SL card.

– I want my old cards, this does not work, says Ronny Eriksson.

Ronny Eriksson, 40, problems in the Stockholm public transport started a few days ago. Suddenly did not work his SL Access Card when he would sign the card on the bus.

– It beeped and flashed red, says Ronny Eriksson.

When the problems continued, he began to ponder what could be wrong. Most recently, he received a new card from ICA Bank, a card that uses the new contactless technology NFC. The technique entails paying by just swiping the card over the terminal.

No problem earlier

He had to test if the problem was there.

– I la Ica card at the SL card, but something in between. When it did not work, says Ronny Eriksson.

– But when I tested with just the SL card it worked right away.

Before he got the new card was never a problem to add full wallet to the card reader, which Ronny would like to do.

He is accustomed to not having to pick up the card from the wallet each time he will sign it.

Recently, he held on to miss the subway.

– I have chosen to have a small purse of just fit what I need. I travel a lot by bus and subway to work and it’s a pain to have to take up the card every time, says Ronny Eriksson.

Now he wishes he had been able to choose to receive retaining the old card. He has contacted Ica Bank to get a card with the old technique again.

– This is not working, says Ronny Eriksson.

– I think it is bad to Ica obviously have not tested this.

“Not heard of the problem”

ICA’s press office has not heard of problems in the past but after contact with Ica Bank gives to Ronny right:

“It depends on two cards with NFC technology turns out to each other if they are in the same wallet or the like because the receiving terminal does not know which card it will be read. One must therefore take out the card you want to use the wallet if you have more cards with this technology. This applies to all cards with NFC technology and is therefore not specific to the ICA board, “writes Emelie Ericson, press officer for ICA AB, in an email.

ICA Bank is the first Swedish bank to introduce contactless bank cards , according to a press release from last year.

SL are not aware that the new contactless cards will be a problem for travelers.

– There is new for us that these cards would disturb each other, and why it is so I can not speculate right now, says Thomas Silvander on SL’s press office.
