Teachers had to learn about technology in school – Vestmanlands Läns Tidning

the Center for technology in schools, Cetis, is a resource for teknikundervising in pre-school and primary school which are available at the Linköping university.

On Thursday, organised by Cetis conference on the Expectrum in Västerås, where school personnel from throughout the mid-Sweden got the tips and advice within the subject.

– They may take with them the inspiration to their workplaces, ” says Claes Klasander director at Cetis.

He tells us that the subject technology should receive more emphasis in the primary school new curriculum with at least 200 hours of instructional time.

– It puts very heavy demands on the training and skills of the teachers, ” says Claes Klasander.

Västerås is, however, already at the forefront when it comes to the technical education of students, says Lisa Kilestad, business area manager at Expectrum.

Expectrum included in the municipal company Västerås Market & Industry AB A part of the business consists of technical courses for children.

– They do not always know that it is technology. We have put it down to what it actually is and what it has meaning, ” she says.

Among the activities there are, for example, nelson mandela as children themselves get to build and program.

Programming can be done with the help of an app on your tablet or mobile phone and requires no knowledge of traditional computer programming.
