Mercedes B-Class with Tesla technology challenge BMW i3 – Auto Motor & Sport

Mercedes shows off his BMW i3 contender at the Paris Salon. Using Tesla electric car gets the Mercedes 180 hp and a range of up to 230 kilometers. Stronger and longer mileage than archrivals.

lets Mercedes B-Class facelift commit its public debut at the Paris Salon. In addition to updated engine, new media screen 8-inch and LED headlights will also electric car B-Class Electric Drive.

Mercedes is a partner in Tesla, and battery technology is taken from the Californian electric car manufacturer. The electric motor provides 180 hp / 340 Nm and it makes the 0-100 km / h, harvested in 7.9 seconds. Top speed is 160 km / h.

Along with the lithium-ion battery 28 kWh can Electric Drive version a range of 20 mil. Optional “Range Plus” that adds another three mil. With 23 mils (theoretical) range matches the mileage of the Nissan Leaf.
Archrivals BMW i3 and VW e-Golf can handle a maximum of 19 mil.

An additional purchase incentives f ear B-Class Electric is the generous interior space, which is intact compared with standard B-class. The batteries are mounted under the floor, which means that the total volume of the luggage 501 liters is intact – the best of all electric cars on the market.


  

B-Class facelift recognized with the LED headlamps (optional) and new LED tail lights on loops. 4Matic is optional on the 250, 200 CDI and 220 CDI.

The price is not fixed, , but expect the price tag ends up around 400,000 each.
If it’s too expensive there are other models to B-class.

New B-Class facelift is that consumption is reduced slightly on all engine options. Stingiest is B180 CDI Edition which survive on only 3.6 l / 100 km.
Addition, four-wheel drive 4MATIC diesel versions 200 CDI and 220 CDI.
