New technologies in traditional races – New Aland

 MOTION. The 33rd edition of the New Year intoxication attracted nearly 400 participants to start at Mariebad in Mariehamn during New Year’s Eve. To mark the occasion, they tested the Åland Athletic newly purchased timing system.
Ulf Asplund was one of those who ran with the new system associated chip.

The same system is used for example in World Cup skiing, Vasaloppet and the Stockholm Marathon. There you can follow the person live on the internet during the race and see where the person is located and get accurate lap times and results.
