White powder paralyze Norrland – New Technology

A lot of letters with an unknown white powder has been sent to various companies in Norrbotten and Västerbotten. Several sites have been blocked, including the postal terminal in Umeå.

It was on postal terminal at the airport in Umeå as the first discovery of the letters with the white powder. An envelope had broken and postal staff became suspicious and contacted police.

Meanwhile, beat the staff at Handelsbakskontoret in Gällivare alarm that it received a letters with white powder in.

Also Boliden’s gold and copper mine in the Boliden outside Gällivare received an envelope with white powder in on Monday morning .

According Västerbotten Courier is also the municipal housing company Topbostäder in Gällivare received an envelope containing white powder.

All workplaces that sounded the alarm to the police about the white powder has been cordoned off while waiting for clarity. The powder was sent to forensic laboaratoriet in Linköping for analysis.

As the post terminal in Umeå been blocked to hit around 10 000 households do not get any mail until at least tomorrow.
