CHRONICLE. In relation to the industry’s importance to Sweden appears relatively little media coverage. Visual industry so it is often closures, work or competition with low-cost countries.

Anders Ekdahl

Anders Ekdahl is CEO of Swedish Industry SINF and chairman of the think tank dispenser Bucket.

Instead, it is most easily tradable sectors and the so-called creative industries is visible.

Does it mean that the industry is not is creative? No, not at all, but when TV’s programming schedule filled with “Master Chef of the Year”, “Best grill master,” “Baker of the Year” and when Ernst’s summer programs have food and recipes watchwords industry may resort to the same methods. So we welcome the new government that will lead Sweden to come with their very own “industry recipes”.

Here are the ingredients, dosage leave we to prospective industry minister. The inspiration can be downloaded from the German Industry 4.0, re-industrialization of Britain with a strong focus on the automotive industry or among factory owners in Gnosjöregionen.

Recruitment. The education system needs to be adapted to the needs of industry. The larger companies able to share to support themselves with new employees. The small and medium-sized businesses need flexible training with faster delivery time. UAS system is too blunt and sluggish. Maintain payroll tax reductions for younger employees that help them get to work.

Innovation. Regardless of company size needed new ideas that develop products and streamlining production. A close cooperation between industry and research in universities and colleges is increasing the pace of innovation. Make it easy for companies to take part in programs that support the development.

Internationalization. The vast majority of the industry’s output is in an end product that is exported, but more companies need to export directly. The small and medium-sized businesses do not have the resources to reach out themselves. Showcase “Industrial Land Sweden” in international affairs. The need for an international “road show” in Swedish industrial companies.

Venture Capital. About half of the smaller and medium-sized industrial enterprises in need of generational change in the ownership ranks. A difficult and costly step. Make an inventory of the skills available in the companies that are in need of new owners. We need venture capital to maintain production, turn the skills and developing new business.

We would obviously be able to spice up the whole finishing touch with the energy issue but it is a major ingredient in a larger context.

Is there any doubt about how this should taste so mooch we like before serving. Just like Leif Mannerström we are experts in our field.
