A new study shows that your phone habits can lead to back pain and a variety of other medical problems.

That man likes texting is hardly a secret. Now a new study shows that too much button of the handset leads to back pain, writes CBS News.

Scientists have spoken with Kenneth Hansraj , director of spine surgery at a rehabilitation center in New York who contributed to the study.

Bends too much

Man is designed to stand upright, but in modern society we live in, we spend too much time with our heads down on the mobile screen.

We are an average of two to four hours per day with our necks bent at an unnatural angle. There are 700 to 1400 hours per year. The increased use of social media has led to a strong spread of the poor “smartphone” approach.

Selfies can damage your back

A full-grown head weighs four to five kilograms. The study shows that when you bend your head at 60 degrees, perhaps to double check selfien you like to post on Instagram, is a pressure of up to 27 kg on the cervical spine and the spine above the shoulders.

Bad posture can lead to mental illness

Poor posture has been linked to a number of medical problems, including headaches and other neurological problems, depression, constipation- and heart disease.
