LinkedIn buys training company – New Technology

LinkedIn buys the video and web-based training company Lynda.com about 13 billion.

Lynda.com offers video-based courses in entrepreneurship, technology and creative fields. The annual cost of access to the courses between 2200 and 3300 crowns.

Exactly how LinkedIn and Lynda.com will combine their offerings are not clear. In a blog post, however, Ryan Roslansky, head of content at LinkedIn, a picture of the possibilities:

“Imagine you are unemployed and you can immediately learn the skills needed for the job vacancies in a particular city, Denver, and then be prompted to take a relevant and accredited courses to get you the skills, “writes Ryan Roslansky.

LinkedIn pay 52 percent in cash and 48 percent in shares for the acquisition valued at the equivalent of SEK 13 billion. It reports Reuters.
