IPhone handsets can be intercepted – New Technology

A spyware can intercept calls and reading emails.

Mobile phones and tablets from Apple can be intercepted. Conversation is done using a computer program used to spy on journalists and dissidents, writes Dagens Nyheter, which also refers to foreign media like the New York Times and Wired.

It should be the Israeli company NSO Group, sells software that can track a person’s mobile phone, reading e-mails and text messages, track calls and contacts, find out the password and record audio. The program, which mainly sold to governments, should be able to get into the Apple products, but can possibly also be used on Android mobiles.

Apple has been informed of the matter by the Citizen Lab at the University of Toronto. After that, the company has developed protection and a new update of its operating system. On its website, the company has now put out security updates for customers to download, but writes that one does not discuss security issues until an investigation has been made.
