One dead and several injured by man with knife in London – Aftonbladet

A woman has been killed and five others injured in a knife attack in central London.

A 19 year old man was attacked in the middle of the street, and police are investigating links to terrorism. The man was arrested after being shot with a stun gun.

A woman in her 60s has been killed and five others have been injured in the attack that took place in the street in Russell Square in London, reports BBC News. At present there is little information available about the motive for the incident, which occurred at 22:30 local time, but the police do not rule out links to terrorism.

– Terrorism is a possibility we are investigating at the moment, says Scotland Yard in a statement without going into details.

London police said in its statement that the woman who was injured received treatment at the site, but pronounced dead a short time later. Five others, a woman and four men, cared for their injuries in hospital.

The offender, identified as a 19 year old, was arrested after being shot by police stun gun.

The alarm came to the police at 22:33 local time that a man with a knife wounded people at the square. Six minutes later, he could be arrested.

He found himself on the street after having been to the movies nearby with his girlfriend. They hid in a bar with others where the police came and questioned people.
