Man with knife attack in London – one dead and several injured – Aftonbladet

A man with knife attacked on a street in central London late on Wednesday night.

A woman was killed and five other people were injured.

A woman in her 60s has been killed and five others have been injured in the attack which occurred in the street at Russell Square in London, reports BBC News. At present there is little information available about the motive for the incident, which occurred at 22:30 local time, but the police do not rule out links to terrorism.

– Terrorism is one of the possibilities we are investigating at the moment, says London police Scotland Yard in a statement, without going into details.

Increased police presence

The alarm is that a man with knife attacked people at the park, located near the famous British Museum, came at 22:33. Six minutes later, he could be arrested.

The incident is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police’s homicide and serious crime, with the support of an anti-terror group.

– Our thoughts are with the innocent victims of the incident at Russell Square and their families, he says, and continues:

– Report anything suspicious to the police. We all have an important role to play as the police and security services the eyes and ears to protect London, says Khan, according to Reuters.
