The owner of the house was inside the kitchen to fetch the meat.
As the exploded gas grill and the house caught fire.
– I heard a bang . It took fire in the awning, it went in seconds. It is awful, says the owner.
In the fire outside Örebro on Saturday became the house totally destroyed. No person was injured. Shortly before 15 prepared the couple living in the house dinner.
– I lit the grill and went to the kitchen to fetch the meat. Then I heard a bang and the grill exploded, says the owner of the house.
It took fire in an awning and the fire spread through the roof into the attic.
– In half an hour the whole house engulfed in flames. It’s horrible. Everything happened so fast. I am shaken.
Emergency services were called and were a short while later on the spot.
“Strong” explosion
– They helped to save what could be save. I have no idea what happened, it comes in any investigation to show. Under the circumstances, we still feel good.
The explosion could be heard from afar.
– It was sharp. A neighbor who lives 500 yards away heard it said Lars-Erik falls, rescue service internal command.
The rescue was forced to destroy the roof to prevent the spread.
– There was a risk that it would spread to adjacent buildings, said Lars-Erik Fallen, adding:
– We do not know why the grill exploded. I think there must be some technical fault or the gas leaked. Then the grill lit and there was a spark, but it’s just a theory I have.
Police investigate the site
At 18 o’clock left parts of the rescue force location.
