News Apple’s new iPhone – or iPhone – will almost certainly come up with a more expensive price tag than its predecessor.
The reason is said to be the notorious sapphire screen, which is believed to replace the previously fragile glass screen, reports the Wall Street Journal.
More durable – and expensive
And should you believe the images that emerged online and claimed to represent the new iPhone 6, it is perhaps worth the extra coin. Sapphire, which is usually used for luxury watches, namely is both harder and more durable than the glass – which is predicted to result in a waterproof model and virtually indestructible screen.
to start mass producing the new iPhone
According to the Wall Street Journal’s report considers Apple to use the new screen to the two upcoming iPhone models, provided they can produce enough screens. Sure, it sounds simple, but given that Apple usually sells about 50 million iPhones in its first quarter, which Mashable writes, so has the technology giant a lot to do.
Mass production of the new model is said to start this month. None of this is not yet officially confirmed by Apple, which is expected to launch the new iPhone products in September.
