Here is Volvo's new monster - Aftonbladet

Here is Volvo’s new super-hot Volvo S60 Polestar developed specially by motorsports firm Polestar. Volvo promises 0-100 in 4.9 seconds and 350 hp under the hood – but it will be before it comes to Sweden.

As part of the ongoing collaboration between Volvo and motorsports firm Polestar will now their first car – new S60 Polestar.

The car’s exterior is familiar from the 508-hp monster that came last year (see the slideshow on the right) but has been toned down a bit so that it will not be quite as expensive to produce on a larger scale – the concept car from 2012, is rumored to have cost a bit over two million crowns.

– We got a fantastic response on the Volvo C30 and S60 Polestar concept cars, so we are very excited to introduce our first series-produced car, says Polestar’s president Christian Dahl in a statement.

Just Australia

However, it will be some time before you will be able to buy the car in Sweden. Volvo plans to start with only a small series specifically designed for the Australian market.

– The Australian market for performance cars is, and always has been strong, says Matt Braid, managing director of Volvo Australia.

After its launch in Australia, Volvo will evaluate the interest and see if it would be possible to release the model in other markets – including the Swedish.
