winners of Green Innovation Contest designated

Ejektorböj, Koljern, Optistring and MicProS called environmental innovations that are price takers in Green Innovation Contest 2012. Four outstanding and sustainable innovations that are ready to hit the market and become a part of Swedish growth.

– As CEO of Innovatum I am proud of the response to the competition had. 120 entries from around the country who are active in a variety of areas, with a common goal – the sustainable and economic growth in Sweden, says Helmersson, in a press release.

The innovations found in the categories of industry, construction, energy and resource efficiency:

• Ejektorböjar produced by Karl-Erik Andersson from Finspångsvägen. The innovation solves problems and reduce energy losses that occur in the T-tube. With ejektorböjen it becomes an even and synchronized flow instead of eddies and turbulence that is otherwise common.

• Koljerns author is Ake Mard from Sundsvall. The innovation combines cellular glass with U-plate girders and create self-supporting and insulating building materials to the foundation, roof and terraces.

• Optistring was developed by Anders Lindgren, Stockholm and his team. Innovation is a VSD system for photovoltaic panels where the system controls the conversion on a panel level, which increases energy yield by up to 25 percent.

• MicProS developed by Matilda Olstorpe from Uppsala and her team. The innovation converts waste and food waste into protein feed for fish farms.

prize winners were announced April 23 during Sustainability Day 2013. The prize was Vinnova chairman Mr Johansson.

– In competitions like Green Innovation Contest is not just innovation at the center without the individuals and creators behind the ideas that we have the opportunity to meet. We need more events like Green Innovation Contest to encourage innovative power in Sweden, says Mr Johansson.
