Humbly Microsoft on the way back - IDG.se

I would like write something more comprehensive about the recent mobile revolution. Until further notice, a Web chronicle do.

Class=”paragraphIntro”> Nokia’s way down into the abyss this week make it relevant again. Mobile company lost 32 percent of mobile sales in the third quarter. But there is something fishy about the numbers.

Now in winter I have met many happy Lumia 920 owners. Trendy guys (I have not yet had your eye on any Windows Phone bride) flash gladly around with their often illgula kids, who, with his color really stands out. Many celebrates Windows Phone as a platform for being so innovative, fresher than iPhone or Android.

Right now are about evenly between the number of races apps for Iphone and Android, but Android apps are expected to be the first to cross the million mark for the summer and then will Android for some time to come to be the dominant platform. Windows Phone apps is growing rapidly, but is still well behind the two big. But a lot seems to be going on f or Windows Phone.

It is obviously not to blindly at the at first negative figures for Nokia. Sales of the Lumia is going well, 5.6 million sold in the first quarter is not bad at all. And it is also up from 4.4 million in the fourth quarter of last year. The big problem is the less sophisticated phones – which has long been sold well in developing countries. Where Nokia has failed to meet the market.

While Nokia is on the right track with the new types of phones are going well for Microsoft. Profit and sales increased last quarter. But here is the double standards that exist.
Windows 8 is so far considered to be a flop. PC sales dive, according to research firm IDC in freefall and much blamed on Windows 8. Both Intel and AMD have come with weak reports, also depending on pc crisis. Yet there is a positive momentum around Windows 8 – with lots of new types of exciting conf igurations, something between PCs, panels and handsets.

When Apple took jersey with Iphone and Ipad meant the atmosphere of crisis for Nokia and Microsoft. Google’s Android is now the greatest power, where Samsung is the most aggressive that supplier.
But now it’s a long time since the iOS and Android took major innovative step. Nokia and Microsoft are on the way back.

Anyone of confident waiting setback. Microsoft once was so cocky and domderande today is far more humble – perhaps it is the reason that the company seems to be on its way back.
A cloud platform expert I took a cup of coffee with the other day recently visited Redmond to meet with Microsoft Azure team. Everywhere he could see sitting Microsoft People with iPad, Mac and iPhone. Then yet all Microsoft employees such as free Surface plates. The whole thing was explained by “it’s so goo d hardware” in Apple gadgets. It might be a better strategy to humbly learn from competitors than to blindly beat their chests with their own stuff.

In the future lurking brand new types of mobile gadgets. It teaches again involve rapid changes in the market.

Microsoft talking now that touch technology in Windows 8 is set to far more types of gadgets than ever. Recently, rumors of smart watches.
Meanwhile, Google with its robotic glasses. Computer use and move out into more and more portable devices. In parallel, the big shift to the internet of things, internet of things. We are moving towards a society in which the majority can be considered a computer.

The only thing really going to say when you look back in history to today’s large will have lost the position considerably in a few years. And of course that SAP and Oracle cont inue to earn good money.
