Google's solar thermal plants in full operation - New Technology

With contributions from Google now opens the world’s largest solar plant in the U.S..

Today February 13 formally opened the world’s largest solar thermal plant in the Mojave Desert in California. Where reflected sunlight from 347,000 mirrors on three 135 meter high tower where solar panels utilizes the heat to generate the steam that drives elturbinerna.

The total power from the power plant called Ivanpah is 392 megawatts, which will be enough to supply 140,000 households in California with electricity, according to a press release from the owner NRG Solar.
