Microsoft has now released new sales figures for Windows 8 and we can conclude that many had a hunch that it will be considerably slower than it did for Windows 7. The figures in the graph below, which comes from The Next Web shows that Windows 8 vs. Windows 7 has sold 100 million copies fewer in the first 15 months after launch.
As if that were not enough, then the figures from Benedict Evans showing that Apple now has a total sell more devices with OS X and iOS than the sold PCs with Windows. With Windows Phone Included is the almost equally.
devices from Apple (iPhone, iPad, iPod and Mac) are also sold for a higher average price than a Windows PC, $ 584 vs. $ 544. What the market wants has turned quickly and Microsoft right now is not really on the train, where platforms from Apple and Google are taking over more and more and the mobile segment reigns. Sure, one can argue that mobile devices are not “real computers” but it plays like no role in these mobile computing consumers demand.
