So responded USA on Nadellas appointment - Swedish Dagbladet

It came two great news from Microsoft on Tuesday:

* Satya Nadella succeeds Steve Ballmer announcing that he intended to resign in August last year.

* Bill Gates is leaving his position as chairman of the board and gets the title “founder and technical advisor.”

– I think it’s incredibly exciting to Satya asked me to step up and take this role, Gates said in a video mailings.

the moment the 46-year-old Nadella head of Microsoft’s cloud operations and industry analysts took note of this means that the company will try to catch up in the mobile area.

– What lies before us now is to think about with respect to some of what we’ve done before and now do new things with the aim of mobile and cloud, Nadella said in an internal note.

Nadella is born in Hyderabad, India and is described as a disciple of Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer. He is an engineer and computer technician but lacks experience as a business leader and will, as I said, from within. Shareholders have been pretty sour on Gates, Ballmer and Microsoft for an extended period of weak stock price. Many investors had hoped for an external recruitment – with a little fresh perspective and toughness.

On the other hand, described Nadella as pleasant, extremely technically proficient and less of the “big ego” that is so common in Redmondhögkvarteret. “It’s hard to find anyone who does not have nice things to say about him,” says a former colleague in an interview in the Wall Street Journal. On the site Cnet notes editor Roger Cheng racy “… Nadella must prove that Windows Phone becomes relevant.”

Microsoft with a market value of nearly 313 billion dollars is the third largest IT Group after Apple and Google. Nearly 130,000 people work in Microsoft founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen in 1975. John Thompson replaces Gates as Chairman.
