A data breach at Kickstarter allows information about passwords may have been stolen. The site now invites all users to change their login credentials.
Entrepenør site Kickstarter said in a blog post Saturday that their servers become vulnerable to a security breach. Kickstarter writes that unauthorized activity only appears on two accounts, but that hackers should have been able to access some user data like username, phone numbers, email addresses and passwords. No information on the credit or debit card has been stolen.
Passwords are stored encrypted, but then there is a risk that these can be cracked now calls Kickstarter all their users as soon as possible to change their password. The company regrets the incident and announces that it has already fixed the vulnerability that made the intrusion possible.
