This assessment IDC in its latest forecast for the development of the overall market for smartphones, tablet computers (such as the iPad and Galaxy Tab) and personal computers.

PC plates is expected to sell more at the end of the year because the demand for them is expected to be great for the Christmas season. Looking at the full year, sold the whole are more personal computers than computer boards.

But it’s a pretty small consolation for computer manufacturers. The overall trend is clear, computer plates increases while PC sales are declining and in 2015, IDC expects that it for the first time sold more tablet computers than traditional PCs, based on the whole year.

Overall, this is a big market. IDC expects that it is worth around 4,000 billion (622 billion dollars) in 2013. Two-thirds of the money goes to the slightly cheaper smart phones and computer plates. In this case, it means that they cost over 2300 dollars when they leave the factory.

In several parts of the world there has been signs that the market is becoming saturated in the case of more expensive smartphones and tablet computers. But IDC expects that the market will set up in line with that now comes out more and more inexpensive models from different manufacturers. They are necessary for manufacturers to reach more consumers in emerging countries and selling more to schools.

Another trend that IDC analyst sees before him is how big smartphones, with a display of over 5 inches, is becoming more popular at the expense of the smaller PC plates. It enables PC plates is anticipated to grow a bit slower than before.

Looking at the market share evolution over several years is expected personal computers continue to drop. In 2013, IDC expects that PCs account for 20 percent of the market (made up of smartphones, tablet computers and personal computers). In 2017, the proportion having decreased to 13 percent.
