SEK 160 million to the plastic stick from Linkoping - New Technology

Thin Film Electronics brings in almost 160 million in new capital. The company is based in the autumn of a new production line for printed electronics in Linköping.

It is the British private equity firm Invesco investing 140 million Norwegian kroner to 13.3 percent of the company. Thin Film Electronics, headquartered in Norway, but the development department located in Linköping, where the company once founded.

Thin Film was founded in 1997 by a group of Linköping Researcher with Professor Olle Inganäs the tip. The vision was already creating cheap plastic sticks. The company has over the years included more than one hundred million and one cooperated period with Intel about computer memories in a hybrid technology between the plastic and silicon. Venture flopped and Thin Film went back to its original goal of mass producing cheap pen drives on thin plastic films.
