New Iphones finger print protection hacked - Swedish Dagbladet

reports the British newspaper the Guardian referring to films that hackers have posted online.

Group claims to have photographed a fingerprint on a glass plate. The image is then applied to a thin plastic film which in turn has been used to unlock the current phone.

news comes just days after Apple launched its sales of the new phone model.

“This shows – again – that fingerprint biometrics is inappropriate as a method of access control and should be avoided,” writes Germanys Chaos Computer Club.

The news has been picked up by several Swedish media and Fingerprint, which on Monday released the stock market predictions for 2014 falls in the stock market. At about 10:40 the price had gone down 12 percent.

Sector colleague Precise Biometrics has also fallen by 10.4 percent.

FPC CEO Johan Carlstrom believe that the video where hackers get around the protection fingerprint reader on the iPhone 5S will provide, “do not seem very reliable.”

he says in a telephone interview with Bloomberg News.

Further, he says that the FPC’s technology is “safe enough”.

Iphone 5s contains fingerprint technology from the company Autentec.
