Apple confirms purchase of PrimeSense - 99mac

With a standard statement now confirms Apple that they buy the Israeli company PrimeSense developing Kinect-like solutions for both living room and mobile devices.

Rumors that Apple was about to buy the Israeli company PrimeSense have been circulating since last summer and picked up again about a week ago. The company works with Movement detection with 3D sensors and became known in connection with that they took out the first Microsoft Kinect camera for the Xbox. The blog All Things Digital can now confirm the purchase with a standard statement from Apple spokesperson Kristin Huguet:

“Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and generally so we do not discuss our plans.”

PrimeSense has hardware and software for motion tracking that as well mobile devices like computers and solutions for the living room. The deal is said to be worth $ 360 million, equivalent to 2.4 billion.

The company’s technology can fit in most Apple products, both existing and hypothetical ones, including a television set or the smart watch iWatch.
