50000 Galaxy Gear sold in South Korea - unexpectedly low figure - IDG.se

Gear has been very mixed reviews. Much due to the low apputbudet and that you can only use the watch together with Samsung’s top phones. Apparently, not the clock hit with users at home nor when only 50,000 South Koreans bought Gear since it was launched.

Class=”paragraphIntro”> If this means , one of the world’s most technological countries is not Ready for a watch that you can take pictures with, talk to and needed every night, we do not know. But the numbers seem to indicate that interest is not really there for Gear.

When Business Insider spoke with Samsung Chief David Eun earlier this year, he compared the Galaxy Gear with an unripe tomato that is not ready to be devoured. He believes therefore that Gear is more a product used to see if the market is ready for a new, innovative smart watch, and upcoming products in smart clock class will hopefully be more popular.

Here in Sweden , you can get a gear when you purchase a Note 3 of the various phone shops, but we have no statistics on how many people actually have bought this combo with plus menu in the form of Galaxy Gear. Otherwise you can buy a Sony SmartWatch 2 or a pebble. Or why not one of each for the same cost as a Gear

Update:
Samsung in the day released information that it has sold 800,000 Galaxy Gear around the world. If Samsung is based on units sold and delivered to various distributors around the world, or if they are based on actual units sold for consumer use is hard to say. But given that every third stock Galaxy Gear sold through Best Buy in the U.S. has been returned, then I think more on the former.
