Derailed train stops traffic - Swedish Dagbladet

traffic is completely stopped then the train derailed around 06:30. There are said to be stuck somewhere between Stockholm Södra and Stockholm C.

– There is an end to all traffic. Staff are on their way to the scene, said Roger Falk, communications officer at the Swedish Transport Administration.

He says that some long-distance, inter alia, on the Stockholm-Gothenburg can be redirected via Hallsberg and Västerås.

An eyewitness at a commuter train that is currently standing next to the derailed freight train tells SvD how it was heard scraping sounds and synthesis sparks outside the window as the train seemed to emergency braking. Emergency lighting is on and he can see how the techniques work outside the train.

– It seems that the trains have scraped together. A locomotive stands diagonally across two tracks and there are a lot of stones in piles around, he says.

Commuter trains south from Stockholm turns currently in Fairfield, while trains from the north turn at Stockholm Central. Uppsala trains returning in Upplands Väsby.

SL trying to replace train services with buses, but also encourages travelers to take a taxi and take advantage of the travel guarantee.

– We have no predictions, this is likely to be long-lasting, says Bengt Stenberg, the SL’s press office.

He can not yet give a forecast for when the problem is solved. There is no information that anyone should have been or that there are dangerous goods by freight train.
