CEO: "There was a threat" - Aftonbladet

SAPO tried to persuade telecom and data providers to provide automated access to the traffic.

And in a meeting meant SAPO operators played terrorists in their hands if they did not agree.

– I perceived it as a direct threat, says Jon Karlung, CEO of Bahnhof, Aftonbladet.

in January was contacted Bahnhof by SAPO on a new system to access data traffic. At first it was made part as voluntary. And with time it became clear that SAPO wanted autmatisk access to phone calls and emails, who made it and when. During his recent meeting with the SAPO played Jon Karlung the conversation with a hidden microphone.

“direct threat”

Karlung says that the meeting with the SAPO became very committed and that the tone was aggressive.

– I felt as if they were out on a sales tour they want to sell into the system. And I felt that it was very tight, he says to Aftonbladet.

During the meeting used the Kurt Alavaara a hypothesis about a terrorist threat against Stockholm in its arguments. And said that they would not get information from the operators of the threat uttered a Friday evening. But he felt that they would then release the information on Monday. “Then it slams in Stockholm city with 800 deaths. I do not think you want to be CEO of Bahnhof, when you say you want to do assessments in operational matters. “Said Kurt Alavaara.

– I perceived it as a direct threat. He threatened me. That type of rhetoric belongs to the threat, said Jon Karlung.

“Secret Club”

He tells Aftonbladet that SAPO also made use of enticements to convince operators to provide SAPO automatic access to the data traffic. And by presenting it as the operators joined a “secret club” they would somehow get benefits in touch with the authority.

– They wanted to somehow that if you went with on this stuff they were doing was the man with the secret club in any way. They did not use the word themselves, but they said this: If you do not join this man may not come and play.

“Serious problem”

Jon Karlung says to Aftonbladet that the question of integrity is not something that SAPO have mentioned. And he recorded their last because he wanted to show the public “what it looks like behind the scenes.”

– There is a serious topic and a serious problem. But it will not be brought into the debate how it works. Integrating Rites boards, control function which consists of lawyers. And when I praktar with security officers, I get the feeling that they regard it as a kind of rounding thing as one can get past, he says to Aftonbladet.
