Google has built a module that integrates quantum physics phenomena in Minecraft’s blocks. The hope is to find future quantum computer scientists.

Google recently told you about how they want to use their quantum computer. It requires answers to basic questions about how quantum computer really works and what tasks it can perform.

“An obvious question is where to go for future quantum computer scientist,” wrote Google in a blog.

“Our best guess is Minecraft. Where to spend millions of young people of his time with a build assembly lines, spacecraft and programmable computers.”

To get these “smart and creative” youngsters interested in quantum physics has now Google with partners built a ‘mod for Minecraft that introduces quantum mechanics in the game’s building blocks.

“Then the players can experiment with quantum phenomena such as entanglement, superposition and how the observer affects that which examines” writes Google.

Quantum module named qCraft is integrated in several different modpaket as Tekkit and Hexxit but can also be downloaded independently.

Not even Google knows the full potential of qCraft and is excited about what Minecraft Players will discover.
