Marissa Mayer left Google for Yahoo in 2012, and the promise she gave eight years ago seems to have been repealed. Now implementing Google in the U.S. namely tests with advertising banners directly in search results.

According The Guardian Google has seen that marketers are not willing to pay as much for advertising space on search engine as before. To compensate for the decline in prices for the drive up the number of sold advertising space. Banner ads are being tested now for some 30 companies, but according to Google, the new feature will be little change compared to the past.

– Marketers have long been able to use out of visual elements in their search ads with features like Media Ads, Product Listing Ads and Image Extension, says a spokesperson from Google to The Guardian.

Google says banner ads – which takes up a large portion of the screen for the user – will not cost anything extra for the advertiser, but is a part of their AdWords system where ads appear in connection with searches related to ad content.
