Squealing technology makes car ride quieter - Swedish Dagbladet

After a successful trial, the system has now been installed in about 500 vehicles, both cars and trucks, running out newspapers and mail for the West Swedish Newspaper (VTD).

– Everybody wins in such initiatives. The skier, the environment and road safety, says Mikael Nilsson, President of the Swedish Road Haulage Companies.

But in the beginning, many newspaper skeptical of driver support, whistleblowers with lights and an audible signal if you drive too hard and stressed.

– All complained that “the new technology howls all the time.” Then one begins to adapt, says Christer Lindström, production manager at VTD.

Similar systems are becoming more common, and researchers think they are commonplace in the future.
