Tesla in Saltsjöbaden.
Electric car manufacturer Tesla Motors is recruiting about ten people in Sweden. Next year, a network of snabbladdstationer begin expanded.
The American upstart Tesla Motors sets up this autumn in Sweden. The company is now looking about ten people to a combined workshop and showroom, which will open in Stockholm before the year end. Then staff sought also in Gothenburg and Malmö. It told Tesla’s Nordic manager Espen Pedersen during a visit to Saltsjöbaden outside Stockholm when the company ordered test runs with the new, sporty electric car the Model S at the end of September.
The first ordered the cars will begin shipping in October, how many moves are confidential information.
New Technology did a short test drive in black Model S with Danish license plates. With the gear lever in “D” it was just to ease the brake, and the car glided silently out of the parking lot. 70 roads around Saltsjöbaden is perhaps not ideal for testing a car that sped so incredibly fast – and so deceptively quiet. Even the brakes makes impression: you can brake from high speed without any drama.
Model S stand out in terms of scope, too. Tesla states that the car can run 48 mil without a stop at smooth ride for 88 miles per hour. Other electric cars have to recharge once and twice to reach the same distance. The explanation is the choice of batteries. General electric cars have large purpose built litumjonbatterier. The Model S is instead 7000 cylindrical litumjonbatterier from Panasonic, slightly larger than standard AA batteries in the base. Together they provide a capacity of up to 85 kilowatt-hours, significantly more than other electric cars on the market. Even the price is in a class of its own. The Model S will cost from about 750 000 for the model with 85 kwh battery.
on Tesla’s website also presents the company’s plans for a network of snabbladdstationer where Tesla owners can recharge for free in 20-30 minutes. Today there are six such centers in Norway. In winter, stations built in Holland, Germany and Switzerland, and next winter, there should be a coarse mesh in large parts of western and central Europe, including in Sweden.
Tibor Blom Pour in the association Tesla Club Sweden believes that Sweden will have about a dozen charging stations.
