Apple displays are growing - Aftonbladet

Technology giant Apple is investing in larger screens – again.

Subcontractors are now carrying out tests for the new models, according to the Wall Street Journal.

– The trend is unstoppable, says Aftonbladet gadget expert Peter Pettersson.

Apple has asked its Asian suppliers to design prototypes for phone screens over 4 inches, reports the Wall Street Journal.

According to their sources also designed a screen for a new tablet with a diagonal of almost 13 inches.

– The trend has gone that way. Competitors have driven a standard that is slightly larger, says gadget expert Peter Pettersson.

“phone on steroids”

Apple’s current model, the iPhone 5, has a screen that is 4 inches. The tablet is 9.7 inches.

While competitors such as Samsung have focused on much larger screens.

– There is an Asian standard that involves people basically walking around and talking on a 9 inch plate. As if it were a phone on steroids. But it has not gone home particularly well in either Europe or the U.S., says Peter Pettersson.

Unstoppable Development

Whether the new prototypes will hit the market is unclear, writes the Wall Street Journal. Before each new launch tested many different varieties.

But according to Aftonbladet expert is inevitable that the next models will increase in screen size.

– The trend is unstoppable. As video consumption increases, the screen size is an important factor, says Peter Pettersson.
