Test results for AMD 5 GHz processor, the FX-9590 "Centurion" - TechSweden.org

From China is now the first performance figures on AMD’s new FX-9590 “Centurion” processor.

a few days Introduces AMD the world’s first 5-GHz processor for consumers. The Chinese are, as usual, on the ball and have now pre-released various benchmark results for the new processor.

In prestandaväg offered no major surprises, but the performance is as expected. For example, in Cinebench 11.5, the FX-9590 8.62 points, compared with 9.45 for our Haswell-based i7-4770K at 4.3 GHz (see our Haswell review).

In addition to the results revealed also frequencies and voltages, which stood at 1.4 GHz @ 0,875 V for rest and with turbo 5 GHz @ 1,513 V. Just turbo volts, the highest voltage we’ve seen on a processor in many years. Worth thinking about is that AMD processors generally run higher voltages than Intel processors. It is therefore not very meaningful to compare volt figures with Intel processors, without any other AMD processors tend to be around 1.4 V under load.

Finally suited AMD Also to recommend at least closed water as a coolant for the new processor. More specifically: Antec Cooler 920 and up.
