EU to U.S.: Stop spying on us - IT.Branschen

In a poll yesterday, the European Parliament voted through a proposal that allows EU member states to suspend the exchange of information with the United States. EU Parliament also urged the United States to report all data on allegations of spying against the Union’s member states.

class=”paragraphIntro”> Members of the EU Parliament call on member states to consider all forms of pressure in negotiations with the United States. Including the ability to stop sharing information about airline passengers and bank details.

reason for the EU Parliament proposal is due to the recent reports that the NSA works with large technology for to intercept and track the world’s Internet users.

Yesterday’s resolution expressed also great concern that similar monitoring conducted in several European countries like the UK, Sweden, Netherlands, Germany and Poland. The EU now wants to check if these monitoring programs are compatible with European law.
