It was the end of last week as Swedish payment service company Payson in an email to its customers announced that it is no longer going to pay for VPN, and other anonymization, with MasterCard and Visa.

Sofie Brangelina, Visa Europe’s press contact in Sweden, denies that the company’s European operations have made any demands on Payson. In a statement the company said:
“Visa Europe has not been involved in this matter in any way, and has not made any such requests to Payson or any other organization.”
