After the server fire: "Most services work again" - Aftonbladet

The worst damage after the server on fire, which caused many government websites to crash, now seems to have subsided.

Many sufferers greet that they have been running their websites again but that there are still some features not yet working.

New Year’s night, there was a huge fire at the IT company Evrys server room on post terminal Tomteboda in Stockholm.

No one was hurt in the fire, but when the power is lost got many government agencies and companies that are customers of Evry, its website crashed.

This after a software error was detected when rebooted the system. Now greet Evry that most of it is restored.

– Our status now is that most services work again. The only thing we still have problems with the Post’s website. We are now cooperating fully with the Postal Service to regain back to normal as quickly as possible, says Geir Remman, Communications Manager at Evry.


First Things First

Some of the affected beyond item has been SL, Systembolaget, SBAB and CSN.

According to Geir Remman has prioritized along what is considered most important for society and infrastructure when you have restored many of the affected customers’ web sites.

– The priority is to take the most important thing for the community first, he says.

But although websites as has come back yet still able to use certain features of some of the affected companies and the authorities.

– It looks pretty good. Most of the features work on the site. However, you can not log into it called My SL or e-shop for tickets. But travel planner and real-time information works as it should, says Christian Hoffmann, press contact at SL.


CSN restarted

website whose crash that however caused most problems for users was CSN’s website.

Concerned students have since server fire had not been able to send in their study insurance or able to apply for student aid and thus not able to get their money for the upcoming semester.

Away from CSN hold greets you that this problem has now been resolved.

– The website is back up and running. Thus, one can send in their study insurance or apply for student aid through the website again. It also works to send emails to us again, says Carl-Johan Proud, press contact at CSN.
