Microsoft may reintroduce the Windows Start menu 9 - TechSweden.org

next version of Windows, codenamed Threshold is likely to reintroduce the start menu, at least for desktops.

Windows 8/8.1 has had a lukewarm reception among computer users worldwide, which, according to the source, although sales figures have reflected. For example, Windows 8.1 only 25 million users, even though it’s been several months since launch in October last year.

Hoping to break this trend the next version of Windows, codenamed Threshold, to be renamed to Windows 9 to be on the way to start a new bullet according to Microsoft itself. To justify the name change, Microsoft plans a number of new features and even återintroducering of old, deleted features. Among these reinvention features seen the honest start menu.

Threshold / Windows 9 will also come with a hefty update Metro / Modern UI interface, although it than as long is unclear exactly what changes will be made. Among the new features are visible enhanced functionality called “Apps”. Applications have so far only been possible to run the Modern UI interface, but in the new version it is possible to run these in desktop mode as any program.

Windows 9 is expected to launched in April next year, 2015.
